Even drivers with many years of experience overseas often struggle with Japan’s skills test (ginou shiken), failing multiple times despite being confident behind the wheel. On the other hand, a notified driving school is a school that has submitted notification to the Public Safety Commission but is not required to meet the official personnel, physical, or operational standards. In cases where a notified school does not have its own practice course, it may rent external facilities to offer practical training.
