What is Driving Camp?

What is Driving Camp?

Driving Camp (training camp training) is a driver's license that is obtained in a shorter period of time than commuting to school, and at a reasonable price, by staying at an accommodation designated by a driving school and attending a designated training course every day from the day of enrollment until graduation. This is a plan that aims to

At what age can you enter the school?

It varies depending on the license you obtain as follows.
■Ordinary car
18 years of age or older (18 years of age at the time of taking Driving Test)
■Small motorcycle/ Regular Motorcycle
16 years old or older (16 years old at the time of taking Final Driving Test)
*At some driving schools, the age at enrollment is 16 years or older.
■ Heavy Motorcycle
Over 18 years old
*Some driving schools require a small motorcycle or Regular Motorcycle license to enroll.
■Large size
21 years of age or older (more than 3 years must have passed since obtaining a regular or large special license)
*Excluding special training participants

Are there any admission requirements other than age?

■Visual acuity
・Regular cars, motorcycles: 0.3 or more in one eye, 0.7 or more in both eyes
*Even if it is less than 0.3 in one eye, it is possible if the viewing angle of the other eye is 150 degrees or more left and right.
・Large: 0.5 or more for one eye, 0.8 or more for both eyes, and depth visual acuity error within 20mm
■Hearing ability
Ability to hear normal conversation
■Color vision
Ability to distinguish red, blue, and yellow colors
■Body
No physical disability that would interfere with driving a car

What is the difference compared to attending school?

When commuting to school, students make full use of the training deadline and proceed with lessons at a time that is convenient for them, but in the case of training camps, students must proceed with lessons efficiently in a short period of time in accordance with the curriculum determined by the driving school. You can. Additionally, it is possible to graduate in a shorter period of time compared to commuting, and the fees are often reasonable.

Why is a training camp cheaper than a school license?

By organizing the schedule from enrollment to graduation, especially Driving Lessons the driving school can increase the frequency of multiple training sessions. This is said to be one of the reasons why it is cheaper.
In addition, training camps are generally located in rural areas, and the cost of land and other costs differs significantly compared to commuting-only driving schools in urban areas.

How can you graduate in such a short time?

For Driving Camp, the driving school will organize all the schedules from enrollment to graduation (Driving Lessons, subject training, Driving Test, Final Driving Test).
Also, at many training camps, the first stage is 2 hours a day, and the second stage is 3 hours a day of Driving Lessons every day, and academic training is held in between the Driving Lessons.
This is a major factor in being able to graduate in a short period of time, as students are able to progress all the way to Driving Test and Final Driving Test without a break.
This allows you to take classes in a focused and efficient schedule, so you can learn driving skills quickly.

Short

Why do fees vary so much depending on when you enroll?

There is a busy season and a slow season for Driving Camp. During busy periods, students, who are the main trainees, are in high demand during summer and spring vacations, so prices are set higher.
During the off-season, it is difficult for students to take advantage of the two-week period, and as demand decreases, prices are adjusted lower.
In general, it is similar to the seasonality of travel.

How long does it take to graduate Driving Camp?

You can expect to graduate in about 16 to 17 nights if you have a standard car license (MT), and 14 to 15 nights if you drive an AT car. We also introduce driving schools where you can stay one night shorter and graduate on 15 days for MT and 13 days for AT. The "Estimated Graduation Date" varies depending on the driving school and time of year, so please contact our customer center for details.

Short

What does Estimated Graduation Date mean? Are you sure you can graduate in the shortest possible time?

This is the expected graduation date if Driving Lessons does not include supplementary training and passes Driving Test, Final Driving Test, and provisional license test as per the regulations. Skills and written exams may not be held every day.
If you fail the exam once, you will not be able to retake the exam the next day, which may postpone your graduation date by several days.
Many of those who participate in Driving Camp graduate in the shortest number of days. However, there are quite a few people whose schedule is extended due to failure in the written exam.
During your free time during the training camp, build up your confidence by taking test results and take the test with a complete mindset.

Short

How should I choose a driving school?

All of the driving schools introduced at our center are designated by the Public Safety Commission and are exempt from skill exams.
It goes without saying that the level of training is high, but more than that, we are the only driving schools that have passed our strict screening in terms of infrastructure and services as a training camp driving school.
First of all, you will choose according to your desired dates, area, and budget. If you let us know your wishes, we will guide you to the most suitable driving school and plan.

What kind of driving schools do you have?

The driving schools introduced on Do-live are all designated by the Public Safety Commission, and are exempt from taking skill exams after graduation.
We provide information on approximately 90 driving schools nationwide, from Hokkaido to Okinawa Prefecture.

I heard that there is a deadline for training.

There is a deadline for the lessons, and it will be 9 months from the time you take the first subject you take after entering the school, Preliminary Subject 1.
Provisional licenses also have an expiry date of 6 months from the time they are obtained. However, obtaining a provisional license does not extend the training period by six months.
In the case of Driving Camp, all training takes place within 2 to 3 weeks, so in most cases you can complete the training within the deadline.

How many hours of lessons can I take in a day?

Driving Lessons can be taken for up to 2 hours in the first stage and 3 hours in the second stage.
Regarding academic training, there is no time limit for taking the course.

About license

Why do I need a driver's license?

-A must-have item for campus life with new friends.
・You are already a college student. You can definitely use it while returning home or at home.
・A driver's license serves as a lifelong qualification and an identification card.
・Guidance may be required as a condition for employment.
・It is a must-have item especially for sales jobs, and it is not a problem even if you are working in a local area, being seconded to work, going on a business trip, or being transferred.
・Once you have a child, you will need it for shopping and transporting them to nursery school, etc.
・For caring for grandparents, picking up and dropping off, etc. In addition, in an aging society, it is essential especially when going out and shopping.

Obtaining a license after graduating from high school, vocational school, or university is difficult!

Nowadays, having a driver's license is a natural qualification.
If you are thinking about getting it someday, we highly recommend getting it while you are still a student. However, college students are also busy. In addition, in the upper grades, students have less time to spare due to practical training, research, internship training, job hunting, etc.
We recommend that you take the course during your 1st or 2nd year, when you have relatively more time.

When getting a driver's license, there is a surprisingly long amount of training time, and there is a set timetable for the subject, so you need to fit it in. If you don't proceed efficiently, you will end up having to go to driving school more often.
After graduating from university, it will be difficult to be flexible with your time, so it is recommended that you obtain it while you are still a student.

need

What are the visual acuity requirements for obtaining a license?

・Regular cars, motorcycles: 0.3 or more in one eye, 0.7 or more in both eyes
*Even if it is less than 0.3 in one eye, it is possible if the viewing angle of the other eye is 150 degrees or more left and right.
・Large: 0.5 or more for one eye, 0.8 or more for both eyes, and depth visual acuity error within 20mm

Can I get a moped license at a training camp?

With a motorcycle Driving Camp, you can guide regular motorcycles and Heavy Motorcycle, regardless of AT/MT. If you wish to obtain a moped license, you can take a "moped course" by passing the relevant test at a driver's license examination center, and your license will be issued after the course is completed. For more information, please contact the driver's license examination center at the address listed on your resident record.

Please tell me the difference between regular automatic (AT) cars and regular manual (MT) cars and the training hours for each.

AT = automatic transmission (automatic transmission)
Since it is usually operated with the right foot with only two pedals, the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal, it is easy to operate and has become mainstream in many cars.
The training time is
Driving Lessons 1st stage 12 hours, 2nd stage 19 hours, total 31 hours (minimum training period)
Subject training: 10 periods in the 1st stage, 16 periods in the 2nd stage, 26 periods in total.

MT = manual transmission (manual transmission)
In addition to the accelerator pedal, the brake pedal, and the clutch pedal, you use both feet to operate the pedals.
Compared to AT cars, there are more clutch pedals, so you have to use your left foot to operate them, but you can choose your own gears, so you can enjoy driving.
The training time is
Driving Lessons 1st stage 15 hours, 2nd stage 19 hours, total 34 hours (minimum training period)
Subject training: 10 periods in the 1st stage, 16 periods in the 2nd stage, 26 periods in total.

Is all training for MT license conducted in MT cars?

I drive both. The training curriculum includes practice with AT cars, so once you get your driver's license, you will be able to drive either type of car without any problems.

Can I change my lesson from a MT car to an AT car?

We have applied for a manual transmission car and given training for a manual car, but we sometimes get people who say, ``It's really difficult, so I want to change to an automatic transmission car!''
In that case, it is also possible to change to an AT car halfway through the journey.
However, please note that it is not possible to change from AT to MT during the lesson.

If I get a license for an AT car and then need a license for a MT car, do I have to start over from the beginning?

There is a method called "AT restriction release".
You can graduate from the driving school after completing 4 hours of Driving Lessons and passing the skills test.
If you go to the license center, the restrictions will be removed from your regular car license and you will be able to drive a manual transmission car.

Will I be exempt from taking the final test at the driver's license exam center?

The driving schools introduced by ID are all designated by the Public Safety Commission of each prefecture, so you will be exempt from taking the skill test at the driver's license examination center (license center) after graduation.
However, the expiration date of the graduation certificate issued by the driving school is one year.
Please be aware that if you do not pass within this one-year deadline, you will have to start over from the beginning.

Can I take the final exam at the license center anywhere?

The driver's license examination center (driver's license center) where you will take the test after graduation will be located at the address on your resident record, so please be careful if your current address and the address on your resident record are different.

[Application] What kind of training camp training plans do you have?

For regular cars and motorcycles, we recommend the ``Guaranteed Course Until Graduation'', which does not require additional fees (training, certification, accommodation and meals).

a training camp

[Application] Are there any driving schools that have one free day during the training camp period?

Basically, the Driving Camp plan has a schedule with no free days from enrollment to graduation.
Also, some driving schools are closed on Sundays and cannot hold lessons, so please check this when deciding on a driving school.

a training camp

[Application] When is the best time to apply?

The best time to apply depends on whether the month you wish to enroll is a busy or off-peak season.
During the busy season, we are literally flooded with applications, so even three months before the desired month, there are cases where the enrollment date is already full, one day before the high season rate.
On the other hand, during the off-season, if you apply one month before your desired enrollment date, there is a good chance that you will be able to enroll in your desired plan.
However, if you would like to enroll in a group, or if you would like to use a hotel plan, we recommend that you apply as soon as your plans are finalized.

[Application] By when should I apply for Driving Camp for spring break?

Spring break is a busy time for not only high school students but also university and vocational school students to get their driver's licenses in preparation for going on to higher education or getting a job. This is the season when driving schools are the busiest throughout the year.
Spring seasonal items will be available and sales will begin in late October. Driving Camp are different from school licenses, and by mid-January, almost all enrollment days from late January to mid-March are fully booked.

[Application] Can I apply or enroll unless I am 18 years old?

There is no need to be 18 years old at the time of application.
However, you must be 18 years old by the time you enter the school, complete the first stage of training, pass Driving Test, pass Karimenkyo Written Test exam, and receive your provisional license.
In the case of a training camp, the number of days a provisional license will be issued after enrollment varies slightly depending on the driving school, date of enrollment, and whether it is an AT or MT course, so please be sure to check when applying.

[Application] I want to apply for Driving Camp and enroll immediately! Is it possible?

If there is a vacant slot at a training camp affiliated with our center, you may be able to enroll from the next day after applying.
In that case, it is a condition that the payment to our center can be confirmed by the time of enrollment.
If you have an idea, please contact us as soon as possible. Especially during the busy seasons (February, March, August, and September), we receive a flood of applications two to three months in advance, so we recommend that you plan well in advance.

[Application] How far in advance do I have to apply to get in on my desired date? Can friends share the same room?

Spaces will be filled in the order in which applications are received early. In the case of training camps, the number of students accepted on each enrollment day is determined, and applications will be closed once the capacity is reached.
When applying, please indicate that you are two friends. It is possible for friends to share a regular room (shared room), but you will also be sharing a room with other customers, and depending on the driving school, your friends may be placed in separate rooms. If you want to be sure to stay in the same room, please apply for a twin room.

[Application] I would like to apply together with a friend, but would it be difficult to have them share the same room if they each have an automatic car and a manual car?

The training curriculum and minimum number of days are different for Regular Manual and Regular Automatic. Depending on the school, the start date may vary.
In other words, even if students have the same enrollment date, their expected graduation dates are different. If there is room, it is possible to share the same room.
In this case, we cannot wait for Regular Manual driver to graduate.
If there is enough time between application and enrollment, it is possible for MT and AT to enroll on the same day and to be in the same room.

[Application] If I want to participate with a friend, how should I apply?

Please have a representative contact you by phone or use the application form.
First, we will process the application process for the representative. At that time, we will ask for the names and number of people who will be attending the school together.
Then, tell all your friends to call our customer center directly. We will process your application over the phone with each individual. Your application is now complete.

[Application] If I am participating with three friends, will the representative make all the applications? Or do three people each apply?

If you are applying online, only the representative must first complete the application process.
There is a selection column called ``Number of people desired to enroll'', so please select the number of people who will be attending including the representative.
After applying, our center will call you. At that time, we will ask for your friend's name.
To apply, you will be asked for personal information, so the friend who will be attending with you will later call our center and apply.

[Application] Can I enter the school with a regular driver's license even if I am 17 years old? Can I still enroll even if I turn 18 during the regular car training camp?

As a general rule, you must be 18 years of age or older to take Driving Test (provisional license test) before starting on-road training.
Therefore, you must be 18 years old on the day of Driving Test. Driving Test will be held approximately one week after enrollment.
For normal manual transmission cars, the completion test will be held on the 9th day from the date of enrollment Driving Camp, and for normal automatic transmission cars, Driving Test will be held on the 7th day, so it is OK as long as you have reached your 18th birthday by that date.
For example, if your 18th birthday is on March 15th, you will be able to participate if you have Driving Camp for a normal AT car and your enrollment date is after March 9th.
Please feel free to contact us as conditions may vary depending on the school.

[Application] My birthday is March 14th, so I have to graduate in March. An AT car is also fine. Is it possible?

In order to participate in the training camp with a regular car license plan, you must be 18 years old at the time of taking Driving Test.
If your birthday is March 14th, you can enroll from around March 7th (the enrollment date and test date settings differ depending on the driving school).

[Application] I am 15 years old now, but I will turn 16 in 5 days from the day I want to enroll. Can I attend a training camp for Regular Motorcycle licenses even if I am 15 years old?

You can enroll. You cannot apply for a Regular Motorcycle license unless you are 16 years old at the time you take Final Driving Test.
The shortest number of days for Regular Motorcycle at a training camp is approximately 10 days from enrollment to graduation (varies depending on the driving school).
You can enroll from about 10 days before your 16th birthday. Please contact us for more information.

[Application] On the driving school's page, there is a statement that can be interpreted as a restriction such as "Prices and guarantees apply until the age of 40." In that case, are you not over 40 years old?

You can apply even if you are over the stated age. It says that the age is up to 40 years old.
This is the age limit for those who are eligible for the normal guarantee details (please check the guarantee details on each school's introduction page).
Prices and guarantee details may vary depending on the driving school, so please contact our customer center.

[Application] I have had my license revoked in the past, but is it still possible to apply for Driving Camp?

It is necessary that the period of disqualification of the driver's license has ended and that he/she has taken the disciplinary training course.
Please contact the License Center before calling to apply for a license to confirm whether or not you are eligible for the license training.

[Application] Is it okay if I do not transfer my resident card when enrolling?

There is no need to transfer your resident card.
You can enroll at any training camp school nationwide with your current address and residence card.

[Application] Is it possible to change the enrollment date decided at the time of application?

It is possible to change the enrollment date before or after applying.
It is also possible to change the driving school if the enrollment date you wish to change is full.
Depending on the timing of the change notification, you may be charged a change fee, so please check the terms and conditions for details.
Please contact us as soon as possible, especially during the busy season, as the plan contents and fees may change if the enrollment date changes.

[Application] What kind of people are participating in the training camp?

The period from January to March is a time when many high school seniors, university freshmen, and sophomores are preparing to graduate.
At other times, many people who obtain medium-sized and large-sized driver's licenses are working adults. In addition, although it is not a training camp, the driving school holds classes for the elderly, and people of various age groups attend the driving school.
There are many people who use the training camp to learn not only regular cars but also truck licenses, taxi and bus licenses, etc.
It seems that there are not only Japanese nationals, but also foreign nationals, so I think it is unique to Driving Camp that you have the opportunity to talk with people of other nationalities.

[Application] I came to Japan for work and my nationality is Chinese. I am not a Japanese citizen, but can I apply for Driving Camp?

You can apply. When entering the school, you will need a resident card/residence card with your nationality written on it.
If you can't read, write, listen, or speak Japanese, you won't be able to follow the class, so we may ask you to take a Japanese conversation test.
Some of our center's affiliated schools have textbooks in foreign languages (Chinese, English, etc.) and some have foreign staff.
We can also introduce you to Karimenkyo Written Test schools where you can take the provisional license exam in a foreign language (Chinese, English, etc.). Please feel free to contact us.

[Application] I would like to know more about ``areas where students are not allowed to attend training camps''.

Unlike Driving Camp have ``areas that cannot be entered''. A non-admission area is an area where admission to the school for training camp is prohibited, and the general criteria is where the customer currently resides.
The reason why there are areas where you cannot enter the training camp is that if there is a shuttle bus service from the driving school, we would like to accept the students as ``commuting students.''
These standards vary slightly depending on the driving school, but if you meet the standards, you will not be able to enroll. However, depending on the driving school, even if you live in the area, you may be able to enroll specially depending on the area.

[Application] My parents' home is near the training camp school. Can I attend from my parents' house without staying at the training camp's accommodation?

If you wish to participate in a training camp, it is generally assumed that you will stay at the accommodation facility of the training camp from enrollment to graduation and receive training.
If you can go to the driving school from home, you will be able to attend by commuting. Please consider changing your driving school or commuting to the school.
There may be exceptions depending on the school, so please contact us.

[Application] I have a graduation ceremony during my stay at the training camp and would like to go home. Is that possible?

In principle, you are not allowed to return home temporarily, but if you consult with us in advance, you may be able to return home temporarily.
It is important that you contact us before applying. Also, be sure to check whether there will be any accommodation costs while you are temporarily returning home.

[Application] Is it possible to go home temporarily during the training camp period?

Since Driving Camp are based on continuous training, we generally do not allow you to go home temporarily.
Even at such driving schools, you may be able to return home temporarily under certain conditions, such as for a limited period of time.
If you wish to return home temporarily, you will need to contact the driving school in advance. Therefore, if you are interested, please be sure to let us know when you apply.
In most cases, you will have to pay for your own transportation to return home, and depending on the driving school, you may be charged an additional stay fee.
Please note that the driving school will be closed during the year-end and New Year holidays, so students will have to go home temporarily during that time.
Additionally, for high school, university, and vocational school students who will be celebrating their graduation ceremonies in the spring, there is also a "temporary return home plan for graduation ceremonies." If you are worried about having to attend the graduation ceremony due to scheduling issues, please feel free to contact us.

[Application] If the training camp schedule falls over the year-end and New Year holidays, will I be staying at the driving school? Are you going home once?

Depending on the December calendar for each year, police stations that issue provisional licenses will be closed during the year-end and New Year holidays.
Therefore, at many driving schools, students will be on vacation during the year-end and New Year holidays, so students will have to go home for the first time.
However, some driving schools continue to hold lessons throughout the year-end and New Year holidays.
Especially if you have a schedule that does not involve obtaining a provisional license, you can stay without taking temporary lessons, and you can continue your lessons before and after that.
Please contact our customer center for details.

[Application] Can I learn both regular cars and motorcycles with one Driving Camp? What is simultaneous teaching?

Generally, simultaneous training refers to a plan that allows you to obtain a regular car license and a motorcycle license at the same time.
The shortest number of days is 22 days or more, and the price is cheap and advantageous! Combinations include normal AT car + Regular Motorcycle, normal MT car + Regular Motorcycle.
If you have a regular Regular Motorcycle vehicle + Heavy Motorcycle.
Simultaneous training also refers to plans in which you obtain multiple licenses at the same time, such as "large-sized license, large-sized special license, and towing license" or "medium-sized license and large-sized special license."
Implementation of simultaneous training differs depending on the driving school, so when applying or making inquiries, please let us know that you would like to obtain ○○ license and ○○ license at the same time.
Our dedicated customer center staff will guide you to a driving school that meets your needs.

[Application] I already have a motorcycle license, but will I be exempt from taking the subject for regular car lessons?

If you have Heavy Motorcycle or Regular Motorcycle license, you will be exempt from taking the first stage course, and only 2 hours will be required for the second stage course (26 hours if you do not have a license or only have a moped).
Also, Driving Lessons will be exempted for 2 hours.
Furthermore, Driving Camp fee will also be discounted (discount amount varies depending on the driving school).

[Application] Do you apply for Heavy Motorcycle training with Driving Camp? Is there any age restriction?

We handle Heavy Motorcycle licenses.
However, our center only accepts people who have Regular Motorcycle license.
Also, some training camps have age restrictions and some have no age restrictions, so please check each school's information page or contact the customer center.

[Application] I would like to know the date when I can enter the school with Driving Camp, a large license, or a class 2 license.

Regarding the training camp plan for large licenses and class 2 licenses, the start date will differ depending on the license you hold. First of all, we will inform you after confirming your license.
In addition, as availability changes from time to time, we will confirm availability with the driving school of your choice at the time of your inquiry.
Of course, just checking availability is OK. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please contact our customer center.

[Application] Can I cancel enrollment after applying for training camp?

If you cancel, if you have already applied, you will be charged a cancellation fee based on the terms and conditions.
Please contact us as soon as possible.
On the other hand, if the application is still in the provisional state, there is no cancellation fee.

[Application] If I pass Final Driving Test with Driving Camp, will I receive Driver's License immediately?

Even if you graduate from Driving Camp, you will not be issued Driver's License.
Within one year of graduation, you are required to take an aptitude test and a written exam at a driver's license center (driver's license exam center) designated by the prefecture where you hold your residence card.
If you pass, you will be issued a driver's Driver's License on the spot at a same-day license center.

[Payment] What payment methods are available?

However, this does not apply to those who have less than a month to enroll.

High school students, preparatory school students, and part-time workers can also apply.

[Payment] Can I check whether a loan can be used or not before applying for a driver's license loan?

If you are unable to use a driver's license loan as a result of the loan examination, you can either change your payment method, re-examine the driver's license loan at another credit company, or cancel your application. Please choose one.
If you are looking for a driver's license loan, it may take a few days depending on the situation. Please apply with plenty of time to spare.

[Payment] How should I undergo the examination for a driver's license loan?

I think it's a good idea to bring about 3 days worth of clothes and wash the rest.

[What to bring] Can I send my luggage during the training camp by courier in advance? Can I send my luggage to my accommodation? Or Driving School?

When participating in Driving Camp, please send the luggage you bring to the driving school to the driving school.
Please let us know if you would like to send your luggage to our center.
When sending it, please write your name on it and arrange for it to arrive by the day before your first day of school.
Please refer to the "Transportation Information" that will be sent to you after you apply for the driving school address and how to send your luggage.
Please note that you will be responsible for paying for shipping your luggage. (Some driving schools have free delivery service)
However, please be aware that if you put important documents required at the reception in your luggage, you may not be able to enter the school.

[What to bring] How much money should I bring?

I think it should be around 20,000 to 30,000 yen. We recommend that you refrain from bringing large sums of money as you may get into trouble during the training camp. If you are concerned, it is best to use a cash card or credit card.

[Accommodation] What about accommodations?

Each school has its own accommodation, as well as hotels affiliated with external parties.
We have a variety of accommodations ranging from single rooms to shared rooms for several people, apartments, pension-type accommodations, and luxury tourist hotels.
There are accommodations within walking distance from the driving school, and accommodations that have round-trip transportation by school bus, so please check when applying.
Additionally, men and women are generally housed in separate buildings or on separate floors to ensure security.
On-campus accommodation is an accommodation facility directly managed by the driving school, located on the premises of the driving school.
The private lodging facility is also directly managed by the driving school, but is located away from the driving school.
Both are fully equipped with convenient facilities for training camp life, and the prices are cheaper than hotels. However, there are rules set by each driving school, such as a curfew and prohibition of drinking alcohol in the dormitory.
On the other hand, at a hotel, you can spend your time freely after your lessons, and your privacy is guaranteed. However, the price is higher than on-campus housing or private housing.

[Accommodation] What are the room types "regular" and "shared room"?

Regular type/Shared room type = You will share a room with other trainees.
The number of people per room varies depending on the accommodation facility. You can apply as an individual.
You may be nervous at first, but I'm sure you'll quickly become friends with everyone in your room! !

[Accommodation] Can I stay in the same room as a friend?

This is possible if you let us know when you apply. If you apply for a "twin" room type for 2 people or a "triple" room type for 3 people, you will be guaranteed to stay in the same room.
(Depending on room availability and number of applicants, we may not be able to accommodate your request.)
The room types available vary depending on the driving school. If your driving school has a triple room, you can enter "triple".
If your driving school does not have a triple room, you will basically be asked to choose a room from ``shared room,'' ``single room,'' or ``twin room.''
If you are undecided, we will give you an explanation over the phone after you apply and will show you the room type that best suits your needs.
However, with the regular plan, only people of the same sex can apply for the same room.

[Accommodation] After applying for a twin room with a friend, is it possible to change to a single room before entering the school?

Is possible.
However, depending on the application status, we may not be able to accommodate your request.
Additional charges may be incurred due to plan changes (twin room → single room).

[Accommodation] Can couples participate in Driving Camp?

Please feel free to contact us as some schools allow boys and girls to share the same room if they have the consent of their parents.

[Meals] Is 3 Meals Provided plan included in the price? Where and what kind of food will be served?

The cost of three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) is included in the Driving Camp fee. Meals include boxed lunches, set meals at the cafeteria, and buffets. There are also some driving schools where students eat in the dormitory's cafeteria, and others where students eat their lunch box at the driving school.
* 3 Meals Provided in the "Self Cook" and "No meal plan".

[Meals] What are the "self-service" and "no-meal" plans?

"Self" is a plan that does not provide one or two meals.
"No Meals" is a plan that does not provide meals during Driving Camp.
In addition, meals are not included in the training camp fee, making it cheaper, making it the perfect plan for those who want to have the freedom to eat whatever they want.
Be sure to check the neighborhood information for the driving school and accommodation in advance.
Some driving schools have cooking utensils, tableware, and simple seasonings provided in the room, so you can prepare your own meals. You can choose to self-cook or eat out, so it is recommended for those who want to enjoy local cuisine.

[Transportation] Please tell me more about training camp transportation expenses.

Round-trip transportation expenses will be paid at the time of graduation.
Please pay for the outbound trip and purchase a ticket. The return trip can be arranged by the driving school on the day of graduation.
Please note that the payment will be made for the distance specified by the driving school, so for example, if the payment range is from Shinjuku Station to Utsunomiya Station, the customer will be responsible for paying for the trip to Shinjuku Station.

[Transportation] Are transportation costs included in the price? Isn't there a personal cost?

Each driving school has a designated transportation route from each region. The driving school will cover the transportation expenses only for the designated transportation method and route.
(Please refer to "Access and Transportation Fees" on each driving school page) Access other than the designated route will be the responsibility of the customer, so please check this when applying.

[Transportation] Will we meet on site when entering the school?

The meeting place and time are determined for each driving school. From the meeting place (mostly near the station), you will be transferred to the driving school by school bus.
Details are provided in the "Transportation Information" sent after application. Or please contact our customer center.

anxiety

[Application] Is it okay to obtain Driving Camp in an area where there is snow in the winter?

it's okay! All driving schools are fully prepared for snow. Driving Camp (Tohoku region, Shinetsu, etc., have a lot of snow in winter),
We have perfect snow removal equipment and systems, so lessons are rarely canceled even in heavy snow.
Please feel free to apply even in winter!

[Application] I am thinking of applying as a solo female, but are there any solo participants?

Please rest assured. There are many women participating alone.
There are many training schools where only female participants are allowed, and there are also many training schools with perfect security.
Please contact us for information on recommended driving schools that are friendly to women.

[Before entering the school] I usually live without glasses and do not own them, but I am worried whether my eyesight will meet the requirements for entering the school.

For regular car licenses, Regular Motorcycle, and Heavy Motorcycle, one eye must be 0.3 or higher and both eyes must be 0.7 or higher (glasses and contacts can be used).
For large vehicle licenses and towing, the visual acuity requirement is 0.5 or above in one eye and 0.8 or above in both eyes (glasses and contacts may be used. Depth vision test will be conducted).
If you do not meet the requirements during the vision test after entering the school, you will not be able to enter the school, so if you have any concerns, please visit an ophthalmologist in advance to measure your current vision.
If you do not meet the requirements, please prepare glasses and contacts for the first day of school.

[Before enrolling] I am going to the driving school for the first time, what kind of preparation should I do?

If you have Driving Camp, you tend to have a lot of baggage. Be sure to check to make sure you haven't forgotten anything before the day arrives. If you can procure them locally, make good use of them, and be sure to double-check important documents such as resident cards and ID cards, as they may not be accepted.

[While enrolling] What if there is a delay or suspension of transportation on the day of enrollment, and it seems like you won't be able to make it in time for the meeting time?

Please contact our customer center.
Our center will coordinate between the customer and the driving school, and we will support you so that you can arrive as early as possible on the day of enrollment.

[While enrolled] Will there be an additional fee if I exceed the minimum number of days?

If it is within the scope of the "warranty content" specified by the driving school, there will be no additional charge.
However, if the lesson is delayed due to customer circumstances (lateness, illness, injury), the guarantee will not apply and an additional fee will be charged.
Please note that the 1,700 yen exam fee for the second and subsequent Karimenkyo Written Test exams is not covered by the guarantee.

[While enrolled] If I decide to leave the school midway, how much of the training camp fee will I get back?

If the customer leaves the school or transfers due to personal reasons after enrolling, the fee will be calculated based on the calculation method determined by the driving school.
The driving school will refund your money after deducting the actual expenses required up to the day of the lesson and the cancellation fee.
(However, depending on the progress of the training, refunds may not be possible or additional fees may be charged.)
Please note that the actual required expenses include admission fees, Driving Lessons fees, academic training fees, teaching materials fees, lodging and meal fees, and other miscellaneous expenses.
Also, transportation expenses will be at your own expense.

[While enrolling] If I exceed Accommodation Guarantee, is it possible to stay at an internet cafe or other place and receive lessons?

With Driving Camp, you cannot stay overnight at accommodations other than those specified by the driving school.
You must stay overnight only at the lodging designated by the driving school.
Because there is no extended warranty, you cannot look for cheap accommodation or stay at a friend's or relative's home to continue your training.

[While enrolled] If I get sick, such as a cold, while attending the training camp, will I be forced to go home?

First of all, please be careful not to get injured or feel unwell.
Please report any symptoms to the driving school staff immediately.
Please note that if your lesson is delayed due to illness or injury, you will be charged an additional fee for the extra night.
Additionally, in the case of a contagious illness such as influenza, norovirus, or rotavirus, the student will be asked to return home temporarily and re-enter the school once he/she has fully recovered.
In any case, please rest assured that the driving school and our center staff will provide full support! (Please bring your insurance card (a copy is acceptable) in case you go to a medical institution.)

[During enrollment] What should I do if I have any trouble while attending the training camp?

At the regular driver's license training camp, you will spend about two weeks living away from your familiar home.
Human relationships with training camp students and instructors, training progress, etc. First of all, please consult with Driving School staff or instruction staff.
If you have any concerns that you would like to express to the driving school staff, please contact our center.

[While enrolled in school] Can I have free time when I am not in class?

Please feel free to spend your time!
It's important to have a change of pace, and if you have some free time, it's a good idea to take a break from school and take a walk around the cityscape and sightseeing spots, or look for local souvenirs.
However, please be careful not to be late for the next lesson.

I'm worried about whether I can keep up with the lessons. Are the lessons tough?

Particularly in Driving Lessons, there are many one-on-one lessons. Many of the instructors at the training camp speak their dialects, and some may think that they were being reprimanded, even though they themselves did not think so.
On the other hand, if your attitude towards taking lessons or your behavior is not good, you may be severely reprimanded.
Through lessons, instructors not only teach safe driving techniques, but also a safe driving mindset and dangerous driving maneuvers that can take lives, so instructors take their lessons very seriously.
Let's think about the trainees and accept that there is strict guidance.

school

[Currently enrolled] Will I be able to graduate? I'm worried about whether I can follow the camp schedule.

Staying out without permission, ignoring curfew, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, having trouble with the opposite sex, assaulting other trainees, etc. will all result in immediate expulsion.
At first, we all feel anxious about lessons. At the training camp, you can communicate with the teachers every day, and if you make good friends, they will give you advice.
Additionally, instructors will be responsible for providing instruction. And even if you fail the exam many times, it's even more secure if you have Guarantee Plan till Graduation without having to pay any additional fees.

[After graduation] Is it possible to practice driving on roads in rural areas with little traffic and still be able to drive properly in an urban traffic society?

The secret to improving your driving skills is to drive long distances and get used to the car.
When you train on the road at a training camp in a rural area, you can cover many times more distance than when you train on the road in a congested urban area with a lot of traffic.
Also, since you ride for multiple hours every day at training camp, it is said that you can improve your skills faster than at school.

Glossary/Others

What is Do-Live?

This is an admission application service that carefully selects only driving schools designated by the Public Safety Commission.
We visit driving schools and Driving School all over the country, examine them, and carefully select and introduce only the driving schools that we can wholeheartedly recommend.
In addition to admission benefits, we offer a wide variety of benefits to applicants.

Can Do-Live's driving school/ Driving School be trusted?

All of the driving schools introduced on Do-Live are "designated driving schools," so you can choose with confidence.
A "designated driving school" is a driving school that complies with the standards set by the Public Safety Commission, and is a driver education institution certified by the Public Safety Commission in the form of designation. The exam will be waived.

Are the driving schools listed on Do-Live cheaper than applying directly to the driving school?

We offer services that are far more beneficial than directly enrolling in Driving School. In addition to supporting your car life after graduation, we offer a variety of benefits that will help you improve your skills, such as services that can be used at nearby facilities and restaurants, written exam preparation videos, and e-learning. Masu. Please see "Colored Tamatebako" for details.

What are the challenge course and safe course?

Simply put, a challenge course is a course with no guarantees. The safe course varies depending on the driving school, but it is a course that comes with a guarantee.
The guarantee relates to Driving Lessons, skill testing, and accommodation. There are also differences in participation fees depending on the guarantee content. Challenge courses without guarantees are cheaper.

What is supplementary lessons?

If, at the end of the shortest period of time, the instructor determines that the student does not have the skills to take and pass the test, extended training will be required. The extra time will be supplementary training.
If you take a test and fail, you will not be able to take the next test until you have spent at least one hour learning about the reasons for your failure. This lesson will also be supplementary.

What is Driving Test (Shuken)?

This refers to the skill test among the tests taken to obtain Driver's License.
The training is broadly divided into the first and second stages, and each stage includes academic training, written exams, and Driving Lessons /skill exams.
Driver's License is required to proceed from the first stage to the second stage, and Driving Test is one of the tests taken to obtain Driver's License.
For this reason, Driving Test will not be conducted for restricted training, motorcycles, large special vehicles, and towing, where there are no stages in the training.
In addition, for vehicles that have stages of training, and the age column of the entrance qualification states that ``must be 18 years of age or older by the time of Driving Test'', legal training is required at the time of Driving Test, not at the time of graduation. must be of the age of

What is Final Driving Test (graduation test)?

This is a skill test that is taken in order to graduate from a driving school when obtaining a driver's license.
If you pass Final Driving Test, you will be issued a graduation certificate (certificate of exemption from the skill test).
You will be issued a driver's Driver's License by bringing your graduation certificate to the driver's license exam center or driver's license center in the area where you have your residence card within one year of your graduation date and passing the written exam.
The reason why the entry qualification states "You must be 18 years of age or older by the time of the graduation Final Driving Test" is stated in the entry qualification for motorcycles, large special vehicles, and towing, where there are no stages in the training. This is because it is the final exam.
