・Takahata Winery
It's a very famous winery, and not only is the wine delicious, but the grape juice is also very tasty, so I think people under 20 years old can enjoy it too!
・Taiyokan
Guests staying at the Locanda will receive 8 free hot spring vouchers! You can go to the hot springs after your driving lesson ♨️ Taiyokan also offers rental bicycles, and there are some interesting bicycles, so be sure to check them out 👐
・Chicken Hokohokotei
It's very filling and the fried chicken is delicious ☺️ I had the chicken tartar 🐔 and it was delicious 🐔
・Yamaki
The salt ramen is very delicious 🍜 Yamagata is famous for its curly noodles, so be sure to visit at least once! It's popular, so there's a line, so it's best to arrive early 🙆🏻♀️
・Izumiya
This cake shop is located near Locanda! Their crepes are so popular that they often sell out by mid-morning! The cream is rich and delicious!
・Mahoroba Furunosato Historical Park
You can see the scenery of the four seasons🌸🌻🍁❄️ You can also feel the history with the ancient tombs and three-story pagodas📚✍🏻
・Aimoriyama
After walking for about 3 minutes, you will come across a torii gate halfway up the mountain. You can take some great photos of the scenery and the torii gate.
・Uriwari Rock Garden Park
It's an impressive quarry that's about 30m high, and offers a magnificent view✨It seems that it's sometimes used as a live music venue because the sound reverberates well❕If there weren't any people there, I would have wanted to scream out loud😢
・Jubun 13 Observatory
It's an hour and a half by bicycle from Locanda 🚲 It's famous for paragliding, but you can also get a panoramic view of the basin and see the sea of clouds in the morning 🌇🌆🏙🌃 I want to go for a drive there again 👍🏻
・Sun Bread
It's on the way to the Jubun Ichisan Observatory! Be sure to try the Betachoko, a local Yamagata bread😉 You can probably find it in your supermarket, so try looking for it🛍 I recommend the Anko Butter Bread from the direct sales store😎
I went with a friend, and I was able to make a lot of new friends here 😘 The driving school also has karaoke, table tennis, and billiards, so you can have fun in your free time 🍀*゜ I'm glad I was able to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience in the southern part of the prefecture! Thank you again ☺️🙏

We are grateful for everyone's help and we had a very fulfilling two weeks.
I was planning to post only my honest impressions, but it really is flawless.
If you are worried about your age or are worried about attending a driving school with scary instructors, we highly recommend Yamagata Kennan Driving School.
I also thought about going to the off-season to avoid interacting with young people and going home early after taking Driving Camp, but the people who came at the same time as me were very kind and Driving School was so good that I felt a little lonely on the way home.
Although it was only a short two weeks, I would like to cherish the people I met and the things I learned.
Also, if you need my help, please

I went alone 😌
From the moment I arrived I was filled with anxiety and wanted to go home, but when I got on the train for the first time, the instructor spoke to me kindly and put me at ease.
First of all, the cafeteria. The cafeteria had a wide selection and was very delicious! I also tried cherry gelato and La France gelato 🤭 They were absolutely delicious!
Next, the environment. The facility was very clean and bright. I especially liked that there was a women's only space. There was always someone cleaning. I also went to the souvenir shop, which is only 3 minutes away, many times! I ended up buying too much!
The air was clean and I felt cheerful all the time.
I also tried the Yonezawa beef skewers! They were delicious ☺️ They also sold bread, so I couldn't help but buy some!
Next, the instructors. Most of them are really nice people.
The instructors also seemed to get along well with each other.
I had a bad impression of driving school instructors being scary, but this wasn't the case at all! We played word chain games on the way.
I personally have a weak mental state, so I was very anxious at first, but the air in Yamagata was clean, there were lots of nice people, and I was able to spend two weeks stress-free☺️By the end, I even found myself not wanting to go home...lol
It was so much fun!! I want to live in Yamagata!!!

Last year, my daughter enrolled in a local driving school, but she didn't like the way the instructor taught her and the atmosphere of the school, so she cried and complained that "driving isn't for me," and she quit at the first stage. I'm sure it was hard on her, but as a parent, we live in an area where you can't live without a car, so to be honest, there were days when I couldn't sleep because I was worried about her future...
I learned about Yamagata Kenminami Driving School through a referral from the vocational school I attend, and applied for the training camp, determined that this time it would be the one. I think he was very anxious because he had failed once before. He looked very worried when I sent him off to Yamagata. However, the LINE messages he received every day were full of positive messages, such as "The driving school is so clean, I'm not feeling down!", "Online is fun!", and "The teachers and receptionists are all so nice! It's fun!" He also said that he found the nature and clean air of Yamagata very soothing. Thanks to you, he was able to make good progress in his lessons and graduate safely. It was like a dream.
I would like to thank everyone at Kennan Driving School for their help. I am so grateful. Just listening to my daughter's stories has made me fall in love with Yamagata.
I have been recommending to everyone that if you want to get your license, Yamagata-ken Minami Driving School is the best choice! If you are reading the reviews and are having trouble choosing a driving school, please choose Yamagata-ken Minami Driving School!
Sorry for the long message. Thank you so much. I'm truly grateful.

I don't usually write reviews, but I was so impressed with how kind the people in the southern part of the prefecture and the staff at the hotel (Folkloro Takahata) were that I felt the need to write one!
Before the camp, I thought it might be impossible to drive in the snow, but the people in the southern part of the prefecture prepared the conditions every day to make it a good environment, so it was very easy to learn!
Above all, there are many interesting and kind instructors! I went there wondering who would be teaching me today! I think it's a driving school where you can learn well while having fun!
In addition, the school has facilities where you can enjoy table tennis, karaoke, and billiards, so you can change your mood and deepen your friendship with friends who started the same day as you.
If you ask the receptionist, you can take a bus to do some sightseeing in the area, so you can do some sightseeing in Yamagata while staying at the camp! I went to Kumano Taisha Shrine and Takahata Winery! It's great to be able to get your license in such a short time and go sightseeing!
The hotel staff (Folkloro Takahata) were very warm and I was very happy to see all the staff cheering us on! I felt the benefits of this training camp!
I could take a bath in the hot spring every day, the food was delicious, and it was honestly the best. I was already lonely on the last day. I had three meals included (breakfast, dinner: hotel, lunch: driving school), so I didn't have to worry about getting food and I was able to spend it very comfortably!
The dining hall (lunch) at the school was also very delicious.
It was the most snow I've ever experienced in my life, so it was a great memory❄️I'd love to come to Yamagata again!

At first, I was full of anxiety, but thanks to the kind teachers, I was able to enjoy going to school every day! I was not good at S-turns and parking, but no matter how many times I went off the road, the teachers encouraged me by saying, "Don't worry, don't worry! That was close!", so I didn't end up hating driving! In fact, I started to like it! lol
Also, the food at the accommodation and the driving school was really delicious, so I looked forward to mealtimes every day! Also, there was a convenience store and a drugstore near the accommodation, so I went there every day to buy sweets and ice cream, and I gained 5kg in two weeks 💧 I ate too much 💧
In my free time, I read manga and played table tennis, and when I got back to the inn, I went to a hot spring and ate ramen! I had a lot of fun ^_^
What I especially liked was the view from the driving school! The most memorable moment was the snowy evening scenery I saw after my first radio lesson. I was deeply moved by the sense of accomplishment I felt after completing the radio lesson, and the view of the snowy scenery that I don't usually get to see! 😭
It's been about a week since I graduated, and I already want to go back to Yamagata 🥲 I was filled with sadness at the thought of not being able to see my teachers again, but when the teacher who was so kind to me said "See you later!" as I was leaving, I was so happy that I almost cried on the bus ride home 🥲
I made the right choice by choosing Kennan! Thanks to the teachers, I had a wonderful two weeks! If I ever find myself out on the street in the future, please help me find a job in Kennan ^_^ I'll enjoy my car life safely!
Take care of yourself and keep up the good work!
Good morning~(^_^)/

The accommodation and driving school are very clean, and the instructors are all unique, fun and kind people☺️Thanks to them, I've come to love driving✨
In particular, Mr. smnk gave us a really interesting and fun lesson!

First off, it was absolutely amazing!
I stayed at Tambakan, and the food was buffet style in the morning with a good selection and the food changed slightly each day so I never got bored.
Every night we had something different, mostly meat dishes, but dessert was also included, so we were full every day. The room we stayed in was also very nice, and I came with a friend, but we had a very comfortable stay. The dining area, the shared toilets, and everything in the inn were clean and comfortable. It was also nice that you could wash and dry your clothes for free. You can also go to the hot springs, so I recommend going during the cold season! It was also very helpful that we could use the separate shower rooms, which are convenient for women. The cafeteria at the school was delicious! We could choose from curry, rice, and noodles, and the menu changed every day, and we could eat as much rice as we wanted, so we didn't get bored and we were full every day. The school building was also very clean and comfortable, and it was nice that we could play karaoke, table tennis, and billiards in our free time. There are souvenir shops near the school, so please check them out! As for the classes, we basically watched a video called Dondon Drive and studied individually, but even though I get sleepy easily during class, I was able to concentrate and study, and it was easy to understand, so I was able to pass the written exam without any problems. In terms of lessons, the compatibility with the teacher depends on the person, so it can be easy to understand or difficult, but the teacher is generally kind and teaches in an easy-to-understand way. Don't worry, I've never been yelled at. Also, this time I came with a friend, but my friend was infected with the coronavirus, and I also got infected the next day, so it was very difficult. However, the teachers, the school office staff, and the people at the accommodation were kind to me, gave me lots of sweets, arranged for a test kit, and took me to the hospital if I wanted. I am truly grateful. I was worried about what would happen when I got infected, but after returning home temporarily, I asked them to re-enroll by myself a week later, even though they were busy during the spring break, and I was able to graduate during the spring break! I was worried again when I re-enrolled by myself, but I was able to get through it without any problems. If anyone around me wants to go to a license training camp, I would recommend this place first! I feel lonely after graduating and no longer have the opportunity to go, but I think I will never forget the memories I had here! Thank you so much for your help over the past two weeks! Thank you very much!

When I first heard the explanation, I thought it might be difficult at first because there was so much to remember, from how to take classes to driving a car to how to live in the dormitory, but I quickly got used to it.
The lady at the reception desk will answer any questions you may have, and the teachers are very kind and explain things in an easy-to-understand way.
Best of all, there is a separate building called the clubhouse where you can do laundry, sing karaoke, and play table tennis for free, which is a great way to relax.
The scenery is beautiful and just taking a walk there makes me feel excited.
I'm also staying at a dormitory called Shirasagi-so, where the food is delicious and I can take hot spring baths every day, so even if I'm tired from classes, I feel refreshed.
I felt glad to have come here!!

There were many kind teachers in the practical lessons, and when I had time to drive, I would often chat with them for an hour while taking lessons. They handed out cotton candy and balls of konnyaku at the school, and we could play billiards at the facility across the street, so I was able to keep going and have fun, and it became a great memory.

Also, the steak that guests staying at the Locanda dormitory can eat at dinner on the second day is incredibly large and absolutely delicious! 😊 Of course, the school lunches are also delicious!!! You can choose from three menus every day, and everything I've had so far has been delicious, and you can get a large portion of rice, so it's very satisfying!!!
My recommendation is the bibimbap bowl!!

A week has passed, and I'm so pleased with both my driving lessons and my personal life👍
At school, the teachers are very kind and willing to teach you. Not knowing which teacher will be in charge on the day until the day itself is one of the exciting and fun factors!
After you've finished your things, you can go to famous places in Yamagata with your friends in your free time. The shuttle service is also very convenient!
The food at the inn was really delicious, and I was excited to see what was coming out today when I returned home! One of the teachers recommended the "horse meat char siu" but I haven't tried it yet, so I promise to definitely try it! lol
Everyone, please go and check it out!

The teachers were also very kind and helped me to ease my tension. They taught me the tricks to turn and parallel parking from scratch! If you get 100 points on the written exam, you get a 100 points prize! There were entertainment facilities, and although the karaoke was loud enough to hear the voices, I was able to enjoy table tennis and billiards without any problems!
Delicious food was served every day, especially the curry in the cafeteria. The accommodation where I stayed, Locanda, was cleaned every two days, which was very helpful for me as I don't like cleaning. If you are worried about or have concerns about getting Driving Camp at a driving school, I highly recommend Kennan Driving School!

About 80% of the instructors who taught me were great and I had a bright and fun time. However, there were a few who were not very good at conveying the lesson content.
The lunch menu at the cafeteria is really delicious and there are 3 options to choose from! There is a lot of rice, so I'm satisfied!
The weather is changeable, but when it's sunny it's truly beautiful and feels supernatural.
I'm glad I chose the southern part of the prefecture!

because
①The facilities are clean
The facilities are generally clean. The toilets are clean too!
② The facilities are well-equipped
The main building? has a water server, a manga corner (mostly old manga, but many famous works), and a women's only powder room. In the annex, the KD Clubhouse, you can play table tennis, karaoke, and billiards. There are also showers and a laundry room, which I thought was convenient.
3. The receptionists and teachers are kind
There are various reviews, but all the teachers who helped me were kind. Not only did they teach me how to drive, they also told me about recommended sightseeing spots and ramen shops, and they listened to me and asked me what I wanted to be in the future. It was fun.
Tomorrow is the final exam! The past two weeks have flown by. Thank you for your help.

・Lesson content
The feedback after the lessons was accurate, and even though I'm not very good at using my hands, I could feel myself improving every day.
Since we are all human, naturally there will be good and bad compatibility, but there are many different types of instructors.
I'm not the type to talk a lot, so the teacher created an environment where I could relax during the lesson.
I felt that everyone, including the receptionist, was very kind to me.
The self-study environment was also perfect (although being tied down for 50 minutes during online classes was a bit tough).
・Facility environment
The campus is generally clean, and I think there are powder rooms and other facilities for women.
Personally, I was grateful to be able to drink coffee and hot tea from the server in the morning.
The cafeteria had a wide variety of food, so I looked forward to eating every day. The accommodation (Tanbakan) also offered top-notch hospitality, and thanks to that, I gained 1-2kg.
But I feel like I've become healthier because I was able to take a bath in the hot springs every day.
In December, the number of group enrollments increased dramatically, and the school became very lively. It also started to snow. I didn't have any particular problems, but the final exam was driving in the snow, which was a good experience.
If you want to spend a quiet time without any incident, November may be the best month to go.
Relationships
There were only nice people there. I thought I was going there alone, but I was blessed with a great environment and was even allowed to join in on the last day of the event to play table tennis.
I was very grateful that everyone I interacted with, including the brothers I became friendly with at Tambakan and the commuter students I took driving lessons with, were so kind to me.
We also did a little sightseeing!
I had enough time in the evening to travel to Yamagata City, which was a 30-minute train ride away.
The driving school also offers a shuttle service (to Takahata Winery, heated pool, Akayu Station, etc.)
The shuttle was also very kind.
After I was dropped off at my accommodation, I was walking towards the pharmacy when I heard someone say, "Where are you going? Get in."
He also had to give me a ride despite his busy schedule. Please pass on my thanks to him.
If you are staying at Tambakan, you should try Ryu Shanghai (a popular ramen restaurant where you have to queue for an hour).
The two weeks seemed long, but by the time I returned I felt like I wanted to stay longer. I want to go back to Yamagata again.
With these memories in mind, I will do my best on my driving test tomorrow!
