Review introduction (17)

The reason I chose Matsuki Driving School Shirataka was because there weren't many negative reviews, which are common in reviews of other schools, and there weren't too many reviews that were overly praising.
Driving School reviews often contain excessive praise (which seems to be self-generated) from people who have just registered with Google and have only one other review, or conversely, negative one-star reviews that identify instructors they dislike.
I made the decision without taking any of that into consideration.
I was nervous about enrolling at this school because I had read reviews of other schools saying things like "I was yelled at while driving" and "There were instructors who criticized people's character."
There were no such instructors at Shirataka school.
There were some instructors who would "laugh at small mistakes," but teachers are human too, so I told myself to just bear with it for two weeks and let it go.
(If you just can't get along with an instructor or if you're feeling down mentally, you can talk to the receptionist.
Apparently they'll remove me from their position.)
On the Matsuki Driving School's homepage, there is an explanation that says, "The first day of the camp is orientation, and lessons start on the second day."
When I arrived, I was surprised to find that the schedule included getting to ride an actual vehicle from the first day of the camp.
For those who have never been interested in cars or who never had a car at home
Before joining the camp, I learned all about the accelerator and brake positions, how to attach the turn signals and wipers, how to lower the chair, and the names of the gears and shift levers.
It's a good idea to practice using your family's or friends' cars beforehand.
I think you won't have to worry when you get on!
Problems in the written test for provisional licenses, trick questions on signs, etc.
It will be a little easier if you quickly review it on YouTube before attending the training camp.
On a night when I was tired from traveling to Yamagata and driving for the first time, I tried to learn the academic questions from scratch.
I think my head would explode...
After that, in your free time, you can take the "Effectiveness Test" (something like a mock test for a provisional license) [many times] on your own and memorize the questions you got wrong repeatedly.
I think I'll be able to pass the written test for a provisional license with ease.
Theoretical lessons can make you sleepy, but it's better to drink coffee or a caffeinated drink to concentrate.
It's for my future self.
Due to the camp schedule, the items taught in the course may be out of order. (It does not necessarily start with ①, such as ⑩→②→⑦→①.)
When I got in the car, I couldn't turn the curves very well, and then a few days later I had to learn how to turn the curves in the classroom.
Even though it is only a few hours after on-road training that we are still learning theory, we still find ourselves asking questions like, "What does a yellow traffic light mean?"
I guess I have to accept that it's because of the training camp.
I stayed at a dormitory called S Village, about a 3-minute walk from the Shirataka campus.
There are only a Family Mart, a drug store, and a ramen shop within walking distance.
I think this is a good environment for people who want to concentrate only on getting their license for two weeks.
(There was a poster in the accommodation encouraging people to shop at Benibirds, but 2 liters of water cost 270 yen, so I only went there once.)
The advantages of S Village are that you can sleep until the last minute before your lesson, you can go back to your room during your free time, and you can take a short nap after lunch.
Taking a walk in the morning or evening can help you get to know the roads a little better.
The caretaker and cafeteria staff are kind and gentle.
The downside is that the walls are thin so the sound of the TV and music can be annoying.
It's hard to concentrate on my studies when the other students are making a lot of noise.
If the food doesn't suit me, I have no choice but to buy it at Family Mart.
If you are sensitive or particular about your food, we recommend choosing a self-catering accommodation or hotel.
I've written a lot, but the two weeks were a very valuable experience. I plan to recommend Matsuki Shirataka School to my friends and acquaintances when they get their driver's licenses.
I'm grateful to the instructors, staff, and fellow students.
thank you very much.

The instructor was very kind.
I was a bit worried whether I would be able to drive properly with such gentle instruction, but as the lessons continued, I soon got used to driving.
It was really good.
The overall atmosphere of the school was good.
The staff were very welcoming from the very beginning, and I am very grateful that I was able to spend a very comfortable time here.
Originally, I just wanted to get my license, but it turned out to be a fun experience.

The instructors who taught me were all very kind.
I don't know if this is true for everyone, but when I asked other students, none of them had any bad instructors.
I also encountered an instructor who has been criticized by name in the reviews here, but he was a humorous guy and would talk to me outside of lessons, so we actually became good friends.
The people who have given their names must have a terrible driving sense and poor learning ability, which is why they have repeatedly engaged in dangerous behavior.
If you do something dangerous, they will get angry.
The women in the administrative staff aren't exactly unfriendly, but they do have dead eyes and a lifeless demeanor.
Well, they did explain it clearly so I don't really have any problems.
As for dormitories, I highly recommend Park Plaza Nagai.
The food here is delicious, there is a manager on duty except at night, and there is a curfew and strict rules, so it is a quiet place.
In other places, even though there is a curfew, no one follows it, and it's like a zoo with people drinking and partying until late at night.
There are many young people taking regular driving lessons at driving schools, but they are almost like chimpanzees and are very noisy.
People like that usually fail their departments.
If you want to concentrate, don't forget your earphones.
If you have a large vehicle license, we recommend that you come by car or motorcycle (in summer).
It's not uncommon to have a three-hour gap between lessons, but the only thing nearby is a Family Mart.
Since I was riding a motorcycle, I was able to spend 10 very fulfilling days by going on tours on days when I only had a short lesson or when I had 3-4 hours free time.
If my license gets revoked and I need to get one again, I would like to come here again.

It wasn't cheap, costing 350,000 yen during the spring break, but in my case, I enrolled on February 22nd, passed the final exam on March 6th without any extension, and obtained my license on March 8th, so I think the quality of the lessons is high.
Some of the department's classes are being taken online, but if the class is interrupted due to connection issues or other problems, I have to start the class again from the beginning, which can be a bit inconvenient.

Since it was summer vacation, it was quite crowded, but I was glad that I was able to take both the practical and academic exams as scheduled.
The accommodation was well equipped and the security was perfect, so I was able to stay there with peace of mind.
Another thing that surprised me was how flexible the schedule was.
I had a lot more free time than I expected, and even had days off.
I was surprised because I thought I would be immersed in lessons every day since I could graduate in such a short period of time.
So I was able to get through each day with a lot of mental space to myself.
Another plus point was that the food was delicious.

Although I came from quite a distance, they made me feel so welcome and made my time there almost stress-free from the start.
The instructor was also kind.
It was a busy time with a lot of students, but the training camp allowed me to receive my lessons smoothly.
I thought it was a good thing that I had held a training camp after all.
The accommodation was clean and much more spacious and comfortable than I expected.
The food was delicious and I never got bored; in fact, I actually looked forward to mealtimes.

All the instructors at the school are kind, some of them don't like to talk much, while others enjoy small talk.
I stayed at S Village, and all the ladies were very kind and the food was delicious!
There are only a convenience store and a pharmacy nearby, but I think this is a good place to study.
The nearby shrine is also beautiful.
thank you

The accommodation, meals, and other aspects of daily life were all very well-equipped and comfortable, so it was very easy to stay there.
Thanks to this, I had a fun and fulfilling time at the camp.

The school building and dorms were just as I had imagined, and perhaps because I was of a certain age, the teachers were very kind to me.
That being said, this is as you would expect.
The food was aimed at young people and although it wasn't bad, it was quite filling and a little on the strong side, so I sometimes found myself overwhelmed.
However, I was able to graduate exactly as planned, so I have no complaints.
If I had been younger, my impression might have been different.
