We post reviews with the aim of providing the latest, most useful information to those who are considering attending a training camp or attending classes. We are not malicious users who write slanderous or unreliable content.
Ch.1 this driving school has old history with certainly techniques to teach driving skills
When choosing a driving school, many of you may be concerned about the instructor's teaching methods and personality. However, instructors are also human beings. There will be some differences in compatibility, personality, and values. Nevertheless, the level of teaching skills of the instructors at this school is extremely high. I stumbled in the first lesson, and even with extra lessons, there were many points that were difficult to understand. At times, I was close to giving up, unable to find enjoyment, and eventually I even shed tears. However, the instructors still carefully taught me and led me to a clue for a solid understanding. Thanks to them, I did not stumble in the second lesson and began to look forward to driving. This was a big change, and it even brought back the confidence I had lost.
Ch.2 Various people who I met
I met a wide variety of people here. There was the veteran and unique Mr. S, and the experienced Mr. K who taught me the importance of first aid. Mr. H has a policy of teaching his students with kindness. There are also young female instructors. And there's Ms. T who is both fashionable and professional. There are many other interesting instructors and instructors who are thorough and willing to answer any questions you may have☺️
What I particularly liked was that I was able to get accurate answers to my questions. I asked the instructors some questions that arose while I was studying my subjects. Even questions related to recent current events were answered accurately after proper research. Answers to questions and their resolvability are one of the values I hold dear. Here, such questions are addressed thoroughly.
Ch.3-ⅰ There're facilities with sufficient facilities in this school〈Facilities and equipment - School building〉
The historic school building is equipped with all the facilities you'd expect from a driving school: simulators (including one for motorcycles), vending machines (which sell snacks and instant ramen in addition to drinks), toilets, and a CPR doll for first aid classes... There's also a photo booth (1,000 yen each).
The training car is a Mazda (a Japanese manufacturer), and the operation and peripherals are quite different from current models. It will take some getting used to before you can drive a hybrid or electric car after graduating.
ii At the girl's dormitory〈Facilities - Girls' dormitory〉
Due to my gender, I can only review the women's dormitory. The facilities are good and clean. As you can see in the photo (sorry if it's been deleted 👻), there is ample cooking utensils and tableware. You must bring your own containers or plastic bags to store your food. Also, for hygiene reasons, condiments and toiletries are not provided (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, facial cleanser, toothpaste, etc.). Also, there are some differences in the facilities between the first and second floor rooms. There were differences in the washing machine, microwave, clothesline, and the shape of the dishes.
There is a Welcia, supermarket, and convenience store near the women's dormitory, so you can buy daily necessities locally.
Ch.4 Let's break for lunch!
Lunch boxes are provided here. Breakfast and dinner are ordered by the individual, while lunch is optional. However, the menu cannot be known in advance, and there is a fee on weekends. I have ordered several times, but the menu and the taste vary. If you pass the provisional license test, you can choose from a seafood bowl, a tempura bowl, or a pork cutlet bowl as a reward. I chose the seafood bowl, and the taste was average. Furthermore, at lunch, there is a designated place to eat the lunch, and taking it home or storing it is prohibited as a health safety measure. The classrooms where academic classes and exams are taken are temporarily opened. You can eat there and dispose of the lunch waste.
Ch.5 a problem that should better to work on being more comfortable〈Improvement points〉
The soundproofing of the test room needs some work. I think the existing facilities, such as air conditioning and individual rooms, are good. It's a little cramped, but there are partitions to protect privacy. However, the voices and noises from the teacher's room right next to the test room, as well as the sounds from downstairs, echo quite a lot. Therefore, it's hard to say it's an environment where you can concentrate very well. It's an old school building (that has a lot of history), so maybe it can't be helped...
Ch.5.5 It was suddenly happened that's what happened to me.
Of course, some mishaps can happen at the school. In my case, it was the vision test on the first day of school. I had been using glasses to solve my vision problem, but the lenses were not the correct prescription. I had neglected to change my lenses regularly, so I did not have the required vision for the vision test. If I did not pass this test, I would not be able to enter the school, and I would not be able to be shown to the dormitory. I looked for a nearby glasses shop, but I was forced to choose between going to Choshi Station, one stop away, or going back home. However, the school made an appointment with a relatively nearby glasses shop and arranged for the lens to be changed, with transportation to and from the shop. I was very grateful that they were able to accommodate my sudden request. After that, I was able to attend the entrance ceremony safely, about an hour late.
P.S. The eyeglass shop I went to for the lens replacement was a privately owned store. Unlike franchises, it was quite expensive. 😓 If you plan to drive while wearing glasses, it's a good idea to check that the lens prescription is correct... (;´д`) sigh...

The instructor was very friendly and kind!
Even when I make a mistake and am being instructed, they explain the cause and how to improve, so it motivates me to be more careful next time. By the time I got used to it, we became good enough friends that we could talk while driving.
Instructors are human too, so I'm sure you'll get along with them or not, but at least I didn't have any bad impressions at all.
Although it is unavoidable to study for the written test and get used to the practical test, the traffic is not that heavy so it is easy to drive, and outside of that I can go to the beach or sightsee, so I enjoyed myself so much that it didn't feel like I was in a driving school. It was like a trip!
You may be nervous about driving for the first time, but you will be able to graduate with a kind instructor and a relaxing view of the ocean. Personally, I was very lonely on the last day of the camp.
If you are considering attending a training camp in the future, please feel free to make some fun memories!

I went there for a training camp. I was surprised at how good the instructors were. They all taught in a way that was easy to understand and made it easy for students to absorb the information quickly, and I personally gave them 100 points.
The characteristics of people who can be recommended to enroll are those who can blend in relatively well and are able to make steady progress even if they are alone.
The most important thing throughout the camp is to have fun. If you can become friends with the instructor, you can have fun talking about things and you can learn without feeling nervous.
There are various instructors, such as a young male instructor who loves soccer, a female instructor who has a classmate's child, a female instructor who can get excited talking about body shapes, and an instructor who looks scary but is kind and fatherly when you talk to him. To be honest, studying is tough, but I think it's a gathering of people who will teach you with all their heart. "I think you should consider your position when talking, haha."
I can say that it was a really good place, but it was such a comfortable place that I wanted to give a presentation myself. I think I became a memorable student in a different sense, though.
But it was really fun. It was such a good driving school that my friends and I talked about wanting to go back. I have no complaints. Please continue to teach various students. Thank you for reading to the end.

Careful guidance and gentle advice!
I was taken care of at the training camp and had a great time every day☺️
Choosing Choshi Taiyo Driving School was the right decision!
I was negative and scared, and I didn't have much confidence, but she supported me by sharing her own experiences and taught me until I fully understood.
There are no instructors who use harsh language.
There are no receptionists who look down on you.
I'm scared of riding a motorbike, but I'm thinking about getting Regular Motorcycle license so I can come back here again (laughs).
If you're thinking about getting a driver's license, you should definitely come here!!!
Highly recommended 🤍

I don't know if it was because I was around my age, but the receptionists, instructors, and cleaning ladies all always greeted me with a kind smile (^.^)
I was able to take the lessons in a really comfortable environment!
He also gave me detailed advice on the points I needed to remember in terms of the content of the course.
Even during practical training, there are technical things to check here, give signals here, etc.
I don't think I'm the only one who thought it was easy to understand.
Thanks to you, I was able to get my driver's license without any problems.
I am truly grateful to everyone at Choshi Taiyo.

The teachers were very kind and friendly, so I was looking forward to both the academic and practical classes!
Also, Monday is a holiday, so before I went I wanted to get my exams done early so I could go home, but it was good for me because I had nothing to do on Monday so I could study properly or sleep until the afternoon and reset.
Also, even if we ran out of daily necessities during the training camp, there were Welcia, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby so we could stop by on our way home, which was very convenient.
Thanks to everyone's help, I was able to pass the exam on the first try! It was a short time, but I would like to thank all the teachers from the reception desk!
If you are undecided about other options, I recommend Choshi Taiyo Driving School!

I am very happy to have graduated here! The staff were kind and polite, and the women's dormitory (Concept Room Eden) was clean, cute, and comfortable.
The lunch box was delicious, and I was told that it was okay to leave some, so I ate as much as I could without worry. You can choose the days you want to have lunch, so it's recommended for those who want to cook for themselves according to their mood.
There is also a supermarket quite close to the dormitory, which is convenient. The schedule is split between different times, so it may be difficult for those who want to do a lot of sightseeing, but there are holidays, so it's not impossible.
I think it was good that this person was able to concentrate on their studies.
The teachers are not only kind, but they also teach the key points clearly, so even though I was only a terrible driver at first, I think I was able to improve in a short period of time.
Although it was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, the days I spent working hard with the other camp members towards graduation are also fond memories. Thanks to you, I passed the exam on the first try at the license center today and was able to get my license! I am truly grateful! Thank you very much.

Thank you also for the delicious Dorayaki souvenirs we received from the Japanese confectionery shop "Furusato" at the closing ceremony.
I was able to get my driver's license today (23.9/25).
Thank you very much. Once he gets used to driving, he would like to try driving to your school.

The food was impeccable and the accommodation was comfortable, so I have nothing to complain about.
I never thought I could live in such a nice place.
I was able to spend such a luxurious time, it felt like a dream.
The instructor was kind and gave me careful instruction.
The atmosphere of the school is also good.
I would like to recommend this school to everyone.
If I have the opportunity to obtain another license in the future, I would like to attend this driving school again.

Benefits
Recommended for those who want to study on their own
Experience living alone
For people who don't want to talk to others
Disadvantages
The department will be studying by watching videos at the inn.
If you are not good at self-study
strict.
The video itself doesn't teach much.
It's better to study by yourself using textbooks.
I can remember it.
If you are not good at self-study
It costs a lot of money so I don't recommend it.
Academic test
Because it is taken near the waiting room
It's noisy when there are people in the waiting room.
If you can't concentrate and can't pass
There will be an additional cost for retesting.
I think the testing location needs to be improved.
Lessons
There are people who can explain it in an easy-to-understand way
There are some people who are suitable.

There are many restaurants, but for those who just want to eat something that has been prepared for them without any thought, this may be a bit disappointing.
I also enjoyed eating out at first, but when it became a daily occurrence it started to become a bit of a hassle.
The lessons were quite difficult at first, and the pace felt unreasonable.
It was difficult until I got used to it.
However, I was able to graduate on time and get my license.

The location is really nice, but the building isn't that new and it felt a bit cramped.
It may have been a bit cramped at the time as there were a lot of students.
The accommodation was quite spacious, but it was just an apartment.
The noises around me bothered me so much that I sometimes had a hard time falling asleep.
Although it was quite different from the ideal training camp life I had imagined, I was glad that I was able to graduate.
