This school is located in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, where the townscape that still retains the atmosphere of a castle town is used as a filming location for movies and television. Nearby is Tomonoura, a scenic spot in the Setouchi Inland Sea that is said to have been the setting for the Ghibli film Ponyo on the Cliff. The school lobby and restrooms have just been renovated and are very comfortable! The school's practice course has a rare facility called a skid course, which allows students to experience driving on rainy and icy roads, so they can receive practical training.
The accommodation "Academy House" on the premises just opened in 2016, and it is comfortable and equipped with not only a bath and toilet, but also Wi-Fi, a DVD player, etc. At the cafeteria, a private chef serves three meals a day, each with a balanced menu supervised by a nutritionist. We also have bicycles available for rent, so it's a great idea to explore the nearby Onomichi area, which is also known as the ``Mecca of Cycling''! The authentic Onomichi ramen is exquisite.
In addition, as a training camp student, you can participate in experiential tours that are not listed in guidebooks, such as Onomichi walking tour and Shimanami Kaido cycling, which are led by local knowledgeable people. The ``Shimanami Kaido'' is the first cycling road in Japan to cross a strait, giving you the exhilarating feeling of riding a bicycle on the ocean!
