From the day I got my license,
Check if you have stayed for a total of 3 months or more.
Enter the date you obtained your license and the date you left that country (the date you arrived in Japan). The system will then calculate the total number of days you stayed in that country/region and determine if it was 3 months (90 days) or more. If you spent any time abroad for travel or business during that period, those days will be deducted.
The date you enter will only be calculated on this page and will not be sent or stored anywhere else.
Calculate the number of days of stay
Total number of days of stay since the date the license was obtained.
0 days / 90 days (3 months)
You have stayed in the country for a total of three months or more. Please check if you can prove this period with your passport's entry and exit stamps.
It has arrived within 3 months (90 days), but it's just barely within that timeframe. Depending on the number of days in the month, it may be judged as not meeting the 3-month requirement, so please check with the application office.
It hasn't reached the total of 3 months (90 days) (0 days remaining).
How to count and precautions for this tool
- The calculation is done by subtracting the number of days spent abroad from the number of days from (i) the day you obtained your license to (ii) the day you left that country (including both days).
- The period spent abroad is counted from the date of departure to the date of re-entry. The departure and re-entry dates are treated as the days you were in that country, as indicated by the stamps in your passport.
- Stays prior to the date you obtained your license are not counted.
- The determination of whether the total stay is three months or more is based on a 90-day rule. Since 90 or 91 days may not equal three months depending on the number of days in the month, they are marked as "just barely." The final decision on how to count and prove the stay rests with the relevant authorities.
- If your passport has no stamps or the stamps are illegible, you will need documents proving your stay, such as an entry and exit record certificate.
