新薬師寺
新薬師寺は、光明皇后が夫・聖武天皇の病気回復を願って天平19年（747）に創建されました。
当初は100人の僧が住み、七堂伽藍と東西二基の塔が建ちならぶ大寺でしたが、平安時代の落雷や台風で主なお堂を失いました。唯一残った建物が今の本堂です。
