Required Documents

The Testing Process
Depending on your nationality, you may need to complete both a written test and a practical driving test at the Saitama Center.
1. Written Test
- 50 true-or-false questions in English, Japanese, or other available languages.
- You need at least 45/50 correct to pass.

After the rules changed on October 1st 2025, it is true that the test got harder, going from 10 questions to 50, and from a 7/10 passing score to 45/50. 2. Driving Test
If required, this is conducted on a closed driving course at the center.
- You’ll be evaluated on basic driving manners, mirror checks, signaling, lane control, controlled braking etc.
- The test is more about safety habits than speed—many applicants fail because of small details like forgetting to check blind spots.
